It’s common for IT professionals to use their LinkedIn profile as a CV: it’s quick, convenient, and allows for immediate job applications. However, LinkedIn isn’t always the perfect solution—it’s not easily customizable, isn’t accepted by all employers, and might not align with the specific needs of an IT professional. That’s why having a ready-to-use CV in multiple formats is essential. To this day, Europass remains one of the most widely used CV format across Europe particularly for civil service positions and consulting roles. When a company requests your CV, the Europass template is always a safe, professional choice. Hence, going from Linkedin to Europass will give you an edge on the job market.
In 2024, Europass rolled out updates which included a new template. At Sprint CV, we are always on the lookout for changes on the industry and, considering it’s widespread use, we decided to include the Europass 2024 template on our library, like we did with their previous templates.
Let us guide you through the process—transforming your LinkedIn into a professional Europass CV has never been easier!
From Linkedin to Europass – Download your profile
Your first step is to navigate to your LinkedIn profile and download your CV. Simply click on the “More” button and select “Save to PDF.”
The download will start immediately, providing you with a PDF that contains all the information from your LinkedIn profile. This document serves as the foundational data source that our parser uses to build your Sprint CV profile and generate tailored CVs.
From Linkedin to Europass – Create an account on Sprint CV
Now that you have your LinkedIn profile in PDF format, the next step is to create an account on our platform. Head over there and create an account under “Personal CV Manager”.

After registering and confirming your email, a new window will appear, allowing you to upload your CV and instantly create an account populated with all your information.

You can choose to import your CV later, but we highly recommend doing it now to streamline the process. By importing your LinkedIn profile immediately, you save yourself an additional step down the line. To proceed, simply click on “Import Resume/CV”.

In the new window, select “LinkedIn Profile”, then scroll down and click “Import”.

Your profile will be automatically created, incorporating all the parsed information from the PDF you downloaded from Linkedin. From this page, you can already start generating CV’s by clicking on “Generate CV” (skip to the last section of this blogpost), or you can click “Review Profile” to check for inaccuracies. On the next section we will also teach you another way of reviewing your Sprint CV profile.
From Linkedin to Europass – Reviewing your profile (optional)
Now, you can review your profile and make any necessary edits if some information was parsed incorrectly. Simply click on one of the pencil icons located near the header of each section. This will open the section in edit mode. After making your changes, remember to click on “Save” to apply them.

You can always use our AI Assistant to write full sections for you. To do it, enter edit mode and click on the AI Assistant icon. Afterwards, use our predefined prompts or create the prompt you want.

From Linkedin to Europass – Generating an Europass 2024 CV
The final step in the process is to generate your Europass 2024 CV. To do this, simply click on one of the “Generate CV” buttons. This will allow you to select the Europass 2024 template and create a polished, professional CV in just a few seconds.

Once you’re in the CV Generator window, select the “Europass 2024” template. It is typically displayed at the top of the options, but if it’s not immediately visible, simply scroll down to find it.

After selecting the “Europass 2024” template (indicated by the green icon), scroll down and click the “Generate” button. This will create your Europass CV based on the information you’ve uploaded and reviewed.

A new window will appear, giving you the option to hide your CV Summary. While you can choose to hide it, we recommend keeping it visible, as the CV Summary is an important section that can help make a great impression on recruiters. Once you’ve made your decision, click on “Generate” to create your Europass 2024 CV.

And that’s it! Your browser will automatically download the CV. You can then access it on your desktop and send it to the job opportunities that you find interesting!

Conclusion
Applying for a job involves more than just submitting your CV. It’s about presenting it in the right format, tailored to the company, and communicating the right message in a clear and professional way. The goal is to immediately demonstrate to recruiters that you’re the perfect fit for the role.
As you can see, this process only takes a few minutes! Imagine how much time you’ll save formatting CVs with this method. All you need to do is create an account on our platform, and we’ll handle the rest—leaving you with fewer headaches and more time to focus on what matters.
